As I said in a previous post, and if you can't already tell, my name is Rayshon allow me to tell you a little about myself. I am currently 20 years old and I've been playing the piano for about 3 years now. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior at the age of 13 and I haven't looked back. God is the number one motivation and inspiration in my life. After the death of my grandmother in 2008, I wanted to make sure that whatever I did from then on out, I would do it to help others; just because I feel it would be something she would want me to do. I've grown up in a small town in Delaware on a foundation of church basically all my life. Although life gets hard sometimes, I wouldn't trade my upbringing for any other.
I actually stumbled upon my gift to play the piano by accident. There was a keyboard (that I still play on) that I saw in the store about 5-6 years back and I wanted it. So I asked my grandfather for it, not thinking he would buy it, and he said yes without a second thought. Back then I hadn't really developed an interest in the piano, so it sat in our attic for about 3 years. My mom found it one day and threatened to throw it away if I didn't do something with it, so I did! I just messed with it and played around with it, and slowly things started to make sense. My progression, to me, seems like it took forever. There were so many times I was motivated to quit because I may have seen someone better than me and I thought to myself "I'll never be that good.". But I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me! (Phillipians 4:13) And I've persevered and have done things I never thought I could, I still have a long way to go though. However, with God on my side, I know I will be successful in all my endeavors!
